Handoff now officially integrates with QuickBooks. Connect Handoff to QuickBooks to automatically sync your estimates, invoices, and client information. This integration helps you:

Getting Started with Handoff and QuickBooks
Connecting Handoff with QuickBooks takes less than 1 minute to setup. In order to start the integration, you'll need both an existing Handoff (sign up here) and QuickBooks account. Then follow the following steps:
- Login to your Handoff account
- Navigate to Setting in Handoff. Select "QuickBooks Sync"
- Read the brief walkthrough screens, then Click the green "Connect to QuickBooks" button
- You'll be redirected to log in to Quickbooks using your Intuit email and password.
- You'll be redirected back to Handoff once logged in. You'll receive a success pop-up saying "You are now synced with QuickBooks"
- Client sync begins automatically, while estimate/invoice sync will apply to documents sent from this point forward
How Does Handoff Sync Your Data with QuickBooks
Sync Handoff Estimates to QuickBooks
The integration supports one-way sync of estimates from Handoff to QuickBooks after being sent to a client. This includes complete itemized breakdowns for:
- Quantities
- Unit Costs
- Totals
- Line items (all groups and items from estimates transfer with full details)
Sync Handoff Invoices to Quickbooks
The integration supports one-way sync of invoices from Handoff to QuickBooks after being sent to a client. This includes:
- Payment terms
- Due dates
- Amounts
Sync Client Details Between Handoff and QuickBooks
The integration supports a two-way sync of client details between Handoff and QuickBooks- changes in either platform update automatically. This includes:
- Contact information
- Project details
Draft Documents
Draft documents remain in Handoff until formally sent to clients to prevent QuickBooks clutter (such as from test estimates).
How to Manage Sync Conflicts Between Handoff and QuickBooks
If you make changes in QuickBooks:
- Handoff will detect the conflict and pause the sync
- You'll see a "QuickBooks Conflict Detected" message
- Click on the conflict message to review
- Choose to resume sync to override QuickBooks changes with Handoff data
Handoff and QuickBooks Integration Best Practices
To ensure seamless synchronization between your Handoff and QuickBooks account, always follow the below best practices:
- Make all changes in Handoff to maintain one-way sync to QuickBooks
- If a sync isn't showing up, refresh your QuickBooks page - syncs typically complete within 10 seconds
- To check sync status, open an estimate or invoice, click the three-dot menu in the top right, and look for "QuickBooks sync status"
- Review any conflict notifications promptly to maintain accurate records
